What is Hell?

SECTION #1
What is Hell like? Can we afford to take it lightly in view of our eternal life? »
The above states only a moderate view on Hell: Imagine being separated from love and justice forever
(Frank Turek’s view on Hell, presented as a YouTube playlist of 12 short 1 or 2 minute videos.)

In the above short video Dr. William Lane Craig expresses his view on Hell, and why a good God would send someone to Hell forever.* (The latter issue is also discussed in the next section.)
*) Dr. Craig is slightly inaccurate when from the top of his head, at 0:45 in the video, he attributes a Bible verse to 1 Thessalonians 1:5, whereas it should’ve been: 2 Thessalonians 1:9.
Don’t all good people go to heaven?
And what about the people who have never heard of Jesus?

Here’s what Dr. Craig has to say about how God judges people who have never been able to hear about the Gospel of Jesus. And this is what Dr. Ravi Zacharias says about the subject, in a short video where he gives a good explanation on the alleged unfairness of condemning people to Hell. ?

Here’s another good discussion about the subject that Dr. Frank Turek had with his audience.

There is a common perception that so long as one leads a generally good life, they will get into heaven. Find out what’s wrong with this idea in the article Don’t all good people go to Heaven?

Eternal Punishment or Eternal Life
‘These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.’
Matthew 25:46

This issue is also discussed in the previous section, in the video where Dr. William Lane Craig expresses his view on Hell.

Someone calling himself ‘enter’ says:
Eternal torture is just?

A woman by the name of Jessie Sheldon responds with:
I have asked myself this same question. It seems unreasonable to assume that we as human beings know enough to be able to answer questions such as this with 100% certainty. I ascribe to certain beliefs because of the evidence I have experienced but in everything, I think we have to acknowledge the possibility we could be wrong. I think we do have to ackowledge that a person who refuses God and refuses Jesus gift of salvation and that does have sin, the just consequence is eternity in hell. I also believe we should not put God in a box. We need to be humble enough to acknowledge that our understanding is limited. The Bible says we know in part and we understand in part. It also says nothing is impossible with God. So, I also acknowledge that God may do away with hell completely if there is a way for Him to do this. In either case, I choose to spend my efforts seeking God and talking to him in prayer. The only suggestion I can offer you is to seek God and ask Him to reveal himself to you. Pray to the Creator and ask for insight and understanding with humility. For me, the result of this honest and humble seeking resulted in a personal relationship with Jesus that fills me daily with joy, peace, and love.

Here’s another question you may have on the subject:
