Jesus, Saviour, Pilot Me – Mahalia Jackson
Jesus, Savior, pilot me
Over life’s tempestuous sea
Unknown waves around me roll
Hiding rock and treach’rous shoal
Chart and compass come from Thee
Jesus, Savior, pilot me
As a mother stills her child
Thou canst hush the ocean wild
Boist’rous waves obey Thy will
When Thou say’st to them, “Be still!”
Wondrous Sovereign of the sea
Jesus, Savior, pilot me
Captain – Hillsong (Cover) by Isabeau Waia’u Walker
Through waters uncharted my soul will embark
I’ll follow Your voice straight into the dark
And if from the course You intend I depart
Speak to the sails of my wandering heart
Like the wind
You’ll guide
Clear the skies before me
And I’ll glide this open sea
Like the stars
Your Word
Will align my voyage
And remind me where I’ve been
and where I am going
Lost in the shallows amidst fear and fog
Your truth is the compass
that points me back north
Jesus, my Captain
My soul’s trusted Lord
All my allegiance is rightfully Yours
Like the wind
You’ll guide
Clear the skies before me
And I’ll glide this open sea
Like the stars
Your Word
will align my voyage
And remind me where I’ve been
and where I am going
Like the wind
You’ll guide
Clear the skies before me
And I’ll glide this open sea
Like the stars
Your Word
will align my voyage
And remind me where I’ve been
and where I am going
Jesus, my Captain
My soul’s trusted Lord
All my allegiance is rightfully Yours
Mercy – Amanda Cook (Cover) by Isabeau x the Family
My past embraced
My sin forgiven
I’m blameless in Your sight
My history rewritten
You delight in showing mercy
And mercy triumphs over judgement
Oh love, great love
Fear cannot be found in You
And there will never be a day
That You’re uncertain of the ones You choose
It’s new every morning
So, I will wake
And spend my days
Loving the One who has raised me up
From death to life
From wrong to right
You’re making all things beautiful
Abba – Jonathan David Helser
See note of warning here.
(verse 1)
You’re more real than the wind in my lungs
You’re more real than the ground I’m standing on
Your thoughts define me, you’re inside me
You are my reality
Abba, I belong to you
(verse 2)
You’re closer than the skin on my bones
You’re closer than the song on my tongue

Reckless Love – Cory Asbury (Cover) by Isabeau and Family
Note: Below is the order in which Isabeau and her family sing it in the video. If you’re interested in the chords of the original song, they are here.
Before I spoke a word, You were singing over me
You have been so, so good to me
Before I took a breath, You breathed Your life in me
You have been so, so kind to me
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn’t earn it, I don’t deserve it, still You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
When I was Your foe, still Your love fought for me
You have been so, so good to me
When I felt no worth, You paid it all for me
You have been so, so kind to me
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn’t earn it, I don’t deserve it, still You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
There’s no shadow You won’t light up
Mountain You won’t climb up, coming after me
There’s no wall You won’t kick down
Lie You won’t tear down, coming after me
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn’t earn it, I don’t deserve it, still You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. Amen.
(Dawn’s reading from Romans 5:6-11 NLT)
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn’t earn it, I don’t deserve it, still You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
This is what one of the writers of the song, Cory Asbury, said about it. You can find this text including a link to the original story on wikipedia, here.
« When I used the phrase, ‘the reckless love of God,’ when we say it, we’re not saying that God Himself is reckless, He’s not crazy. We are, however, saying that the way He loves, is in many regards, quite so. But what I mean is this: He’s utterly unconcerned with the consequences of His own actions with regard to His own safety, comfort and well-being. … He doesn’t wonder what He’ll gain or lose by putting Himself on the line, He simply puts Himself out there on the off-chance that you and I might look back at Him and give Him that love in return. His love leaves the ninety nine to find the one every time and to many practical adults that’s a foolish concept. Well, what if He loses the ninety nine in finding the one, right? What if, finding that one lost sheep is and always will be supremely important? »
And here’s the radiant performance by Steffany Gretzinger that could have inspired Isabeau and her family to embrace that song. (Note that their recording is uploaded a mere 5 days after Steffany’s video was uploaded.) With Steffany Gretzinger I always think that’s how Janis Joplin would’ve sung when she had come to Christ. Sadly, an accidental drug overdose took her from us before that possibility could come true.
Beauty For Ashes – Crystal Lewis
He gives beauty for ashes
Strength for fear
Gladness for mourning
Peace for despair
He gives beauty for ashes
Strength for fear
Gladness for mourning
Peace for despair
When sorrow seems
to surround you
When suffering
hangs heavy on your head
Know that tomorrow brings
wholeness and healing
God knows your need
Just believe what He says
He gives beauty for ashes
Strength for fear
Gladness for mourning
Peace for despair
He gives beauty for ashes
Strength for fear
Gladness for mourning
Peace for despair
When what you’ve done
keeps you from moving on
When fear was
to make itself a home in your heart
Know that forgiveness brings
wholeness and healing
God knows your need
Just believe what He says
He gives beauty for ashes
Strength for fear
Gladness for mourning
Peace for despair
He gives beauty for ashes
Strength for fear
Gladness for mourning
Peace for despair
BRIDGE
I once was lost, but God has found me
Though I was bound I’ve been set free
I’ve been made righteous in His sight
A display of His splendour all can see
